This Medfield Lions Club fundraiser has become the club's principal fundraiser. Not only does the Lions Christmas tree sale raise money for charity, it also helps members of the community at the same time. The Lions Club donates approximately twenty trees a year to the Medfield Food Cupboard, which distributes the trees to their needy clients. A coupon is provided which is exchanged for any tree chosen by the client. This month long event is a great opportunity for the Lions to connect with so many members of the community during the holiday period. Sales continue until all trees are gone. We hope to see you down at the lot early for the best selection.

While there are both smaller and a limited number of larger trees, most trees fall in the range of 6 ft. to 8 ft. There will also be a limited number of Fraser Firs. These trees are preferred for their beauty and tendency to not dry out as quickly. Because these trees are desirable, they tend to sell very quickly. The price of these trees is slightly higher than the price of the other trees. The remaining trees are Balsam Firs. These trees are more fragrant than Fraser Firs. To keep them from drying out, it is necessary to immerse the trunk in water. We will also have a selection of wreaths, tree bags and tree life preservative to promote needle retention and help keep your tree fresh.

In addition to aiding the customers in finding the perfect tree, the Lions will give the tree a fresh cut. They will offer to wrap your tree in netting, which makes the tree easier to handle and transport home. The Lions will be happy to secure the tree to your car. Although not required pickup trucks are very much appreciated.

The Lions Club accepts cash and checks made payable to the Medfield Lions Club. We also accept Venmo using the barcode located next to the cash box. We do not accept credit cards.

Once again Troup 89 of the Boy Scouts of Medfield will be offering a Tree Pick-Up service after the holidays. The Scouts will pick up a tree at any home in Medfield and bring it to the transfer station for recycling. Pickups will be Sunday, January 5th and Sunday, January 12th only. To sign up and pay use the link troop 89 pick up my tree. Deadline for sign up is December 20.
Unity Farm Sanctuary, 17 Unity Lane in Sherborn, would love your donation of unsprayed trees (Lions trees have no retardants or chemicals, so they are exactly the ones for the Sanctuary).
The goats LOVE to eat the pine needles and bark, and after the tree is bare, Unity Farm grounds up the remnants (into chips) and uses them to cover their trails.

Just leave your tree in the parking lot of the house (17 Unity Lane, Sherborn) after it has served its purpose in your home. Your perfect Christmas Tree will be enjoyed and completely recycled. Clip on the following Logo to access The Farm's website.
